Fruit Punch Mocktails

This fruit punch mocktail recipe is a variation from my dear friend, Bobbi’s recipe for non-alcoholic sangria, I hope that you love it as much as I do. I use sparkling water instead of the sparkling wine but you can use either if you want to add a little kick to the punch.

By posting this recipe I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by Wild Blueberries and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time.

For many of us during the holiday season, the beverages are just as important as the food in the celebration! These little cups of cheer this time of year can add lots of calories and may lead to overindulgence that is not always be becoming to some of us. Long term overindulgence can lead to some serious health issues.

However, this little beverage is so decadent that you won’t even miss the kick!

One of the secret ingredients to making this sangria is Wild Blueberries! As a registered dietitian nutritionist, I recently learned more about the differences between wild blueberries and their cultivated cousins that I want to share with you:

  • Wild blueberries have a more intense flavor!
  • Wild blueberries have a higher amount of nutrition and greater a genetic diversity over their garden variety cousins.
  • They have been growing in North America for over 10,000 years!
  • Being frozen where they are grown packs in the quality and nutrition so they are at their best when they reach our table! Look for the word wild on the bag when you are looking for wild blueberries.

Find out even more details about the benefits of these sweet little jewels from my previous post where I share my recipe for Wild Blueberry Mole Sauce.

Wild Blueberry Sangria
A great way to get your fruit for the holidays!

Festive Sangria with Wild Blueberries

This sangria is a colorful centerpiece to any holiday table and I love eating the fruit it contains along with the refreshment. I love the fact that frozen fruit makes the ice cubes! I add a little sparkling water and juice as the bowl gets empty. Add in fruit as needed.

Makes 20 servings at 6 ounces each. Make half of a serving for a smaller gathering.

64 ounce no-sugar added, natural cranberry juice

1 lemon cut in half and sliced

1 lime cut in half and sliced

1 orange cut in half and sliced

2 cups frozen wild blueberries

1 cup frozen peaches

1 cup frozen strawberries

12 ounce sparkling or carbonated water (or sparkling wine)

In a decorative punch bowl or pitcher, add juice and frozen fruit close to serving time. Just before party time, add the sparkling water or wine!
